Finland is famous for its greenery and its beautiful nature, so it’s not a surprise that one of the main interests in science there is how to keep their environment as it is, which requires more and more scientist to study the changes. This can be one opportunity for you to enrich your carrier with the benefit of getting paid while you finish your PhD.

University of Helsinki is offering two doctoral positions for international students. For the applicants is required to hold a second-cycle degree and to have approved proposal for research. The monthly salary for the position is between €2022 and €2970 depending on the qualifications of the candidate and their work experience. The position is available from 26th of August and you can apply till 30th of September 2014 (the application call will be opened on 1st of September). If you get approved, you will be required to go through four months probation period.

You can choose among fifteen research topics like Aerosol and environmental physics, Air quality, Dynamic meteorology, Hydrology, Oceanography and ten more. Except the second-cycle degree and the approved proposal, the other requirements that you should meet are to have motivation and ability to pursue doctoral degree and postgraduate studies according to the research proposal and study plan, this qualities should have been demonstrated in the previous degree studies. Also proficiency in English language is required and you must have the right to pursue doctoral degree by 1st of January 2015.

The scholarship itself is based on the job requirement scheme and the salary system of Finland for teaching and research personnel levels 2 to 4. Additionally to the appointees will be paid salary components based on their work performance.

Application must be in Finish, Swedish or English languages and you should also provide (along with the filled form) list of publications (if applicable); curriculum vitae and initial research plan (of maximum 4 pages). If you are not currently a student of the university you should provide also motivation letter (1 page), scanned MSc certificate and transcript of records incl. all passed course units with their completion date and the credits and grades awarded. In addition a letter of recommendation from your supervisor of MSc/PhD studies is required; the form for this letter will be available on the page with the application form.

Honjo International Scholarship Foundation invites international students to apply and attend Japanese university graduate school from 1st of April 2015. The Foundation will award 15 to 20 scholarships to the chosen grantees. This scholarship is awarded for the shortest possible period needed to complete your degree. Getting the scholarship you will have to choose the period and the amount that you will receive as set: ¥200,000 monthly for 1 or 2 years period; ¥180,000 monthly for 3 years and ¥150,000 monthly for 4 or 5 years. You have the freedom to study any course as long as it is available in university in Japan. You may apply from September 1st to November 30th, 2014.

The requirements to get this aid are:

  1. To be registered for attending and to have been accepted in Japanese graduate school and not to posses Japanese citizenship. The attending should start after 1st of April 2015.
  2. To have exemplary behavior and academic achievements.
  3. To need this financial aid due to extenuating financial circumstances.
  4. You must provide the following documents: a letter of admission, a certificate of enrollment or a letter proving that you have been accepted in the school.
  5. If you apply for PhD you must be born after 31st of March 1979 and for Master degree – after 31st of March 1984.
  6. You should be able to carry conversation in Japanese (the interview itself will be in Japanese).
  7. You will have to provide committee that you will be able to secure job after graduation from the school in your own country. Guaranteed employment is not required, also you don’t need to get back immediately but you have to have strong will to get back after your study is over.
  8. You should have deep understanding of goodwill and international friendship and you will have to attend the foundation’s events and to take part in its network as alumni.

To apply for the scholarship you need first to register in the foundation’s website: http://www.hisf.or.jp/english/index.html and to get an application number. Write the number in the application form and send it via e-mail to the Administration Office, accompanied with resume, scholarship application form and personal information form, letter of recommendation from your professor, letter of admission or certificate of enrollment, research plan (schedule from the start till the graduation; future goals and plans; description of your research and of past researches if conducted before) and academic transcript (from your undergraduate course and any other courses you have taken or you are taking in the moment).

All documents should be in English or Japanese, other languages won’t be accepted.

Sustainability and business effectiveness are two of the criteria that define the modern successful business. How big you are on the market is not as important as in what direction you are developing your company. This change in the situation requires new leadership style and new ways of making business decisions.

HHL Leipzig Graduate School of Management gives you an opportunity to pursue your goals with scholarship of up to €15,000. The scholarship is awarder to students that apply for full-time Masters Program of HHL for the intakes in March 2015 and September 2015. The application deadlines are respectively January 2015 (for the March intake) and June 2015 (for September).

The HLL scholarship is available for persons pursuing Master degree in business. The University itself offers four scholarships. Applicants must have obtained or be in a process of obtaining first degree in business with result above the average (you need 180 ECTS credits at least). Another requirement is to have scored at least 650 points on GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test).

The successful applicant should demonstrate willingness for achieving of high goals, commitment to the area of sustainability and great leadership qualities. You are expected to show dedication to the HLL’s mission, to perform effective leadership and to have social responsibility. You should also be willing to enter in the Master Program in Management of HLL full-time. The scholarship will provide you with tuition waiver of up to €15,000.

Borlaug Global Research Alliance Fellowships is welcoming applicants from Costa Rica, Colombia, Honduras, Ghana, Indonesia, Mexico, Malaysia, Nicaragua, Peru, Vietnam, Panama and Philippines. Requirements are that you should be maximum in the middle stage of your carrier and to have minimum experience of two years in the field. What is expected from you?

During the program you will be expected to develop:

  • carbon sequestration and greenhouse gas assessments;
  • methods for estimating or measuring greenhouse gas emissions in agriculture;
  • methods for estimating or measuring carbon sequestration in soils;
  • software for reporting and quantifying of emissions according to Framework Convention on Climate Change of the United Nations;

Other tasks:

  • Identifying strategies for agricultural management that will lead to reduced greenhouse gas emissions;
  • To develop application models of experimental data in tools, supporting decision taking;
  • To develop strategies and databases for integration, synthesis and decision supporting for managing carbon sequestration and greenhouse gas emissions in agricultural systems;
  • Assembling of databases to identify methods for increasing of carbon sequestration and reducing of emissions of greenhouse gas in agriculture;
  • Developing process models which will be used as foundation to project sequestration and emissions for tools for decision support and in agricultural systems;

To apply and be considered for this fellowship you must be citizen of one of the twelve eligible countries; to have fluency in English; to have Master’s or higher degree; to be maximum in the middle stage of your career (2 years of experience are a must); to work in a government agency, university or research entity in your own country and to have intention to continue the work in your homeland after you complete the fellowship.

Australian National University is accepting international students from all over the world for the school year of 2015. There are 15 scholarships that will allow you to study and live in Australia for one Honours year and you will graduate in the end with the title “Bachelor with Honours”. The scholarship’s value is $5000 and if you want to apply you should do it till 30th of November 2014. The application will open on 30th of August so get your things ready!

Applicants for all fields are accepted, no matter if you are into literature, business, science or art – you can apply.

The university is accredited by Group of Eight, APRU, IARU, ASAIH and AURA.

What is expected from you is to submit 200 words statement that describes your choice of honours proposal – scholarly, professional or research interests. This stamen should be submitted within the deadline from August 30th till November 30th. You should also fill online form https://apollo.anu.edu.au/apollo/default.asp?pid=8259. The final selection will be primary based on academic merit. The scholarship itself is available once per year so if you don’t get it this time, don’t lose hope.

You will be expected also to enroll full year or in the final year of a program that will lead to degree of Bachelor with Honours. The honours component must be an integral part of the year (it can be Law, Music, Visual Arts or Engineering). You need to be sure that you have or will have academic qualifications to enter into Honours and that you will have all required resources. You can understand this by contacting Honours Convenor in your college. You can lodge an application before you finalize your entering in Honours but if you become ineligible on a later stage, the application won’t be taken into consideration. You can commence in the program either in the first or the second semester with the approval of the College that is relevant.

The scholarship is also available for Australians or citizens that hold Permanent Residence Status. If you are not currently a student of ANU you should concurrently and separately apply for admission in it.
