We have all come across an odd scholarship proposal one time or another. However, this list shows some true golden opportunities in the form of an odd scholarship.
The Zinch Three Sentence Scholarship
Yes, three sentences is exactly right. The company Zinch has gone far and beyond by awarding the student who writes an essay (3 sentences or more) about Karma. How do you perceive, deal or witnessed the effects of Karma play a role in life. Basically a general idea as to how you as an individual have approached Karma in daily life. The student will be awarded $1,000 for their upcoming freshman year at the college of their choice.

The Kor Memorial Scholarship and Starfleet Academy Scholarship
Yes, this is purely for Star Trek fans who also happened to be seeking a scholarship. The foundation awarding out the scholarship is Klingon Language Institute, who encourage students to study various languages. The amount awarded is $500, which is a good start towards books. However, you do not need to be fluent in Klingon. Only a language you’ve studied and have become fluent in. The acquirements before submitting an application are two letters of recommendation and an inquiry about why you wish to study language.

Are You Good Or Evil ScholarshipÂ
For anyone 13 and older can apply for this scholarship. Based on which heroic or villainous side you choose to explore, write an essay based on whether or not you would pick good or evil. The battle for good vs. Evil is as old as time itself, so it should be no surprise a company has set up a foundation to encourage the imagination in teens to explore this possible fantasy. An award up to $2,500 is being handed out, which if anyone knows what it’s like to start a college fund, is highly worth the submission application. Requirements are that the student must live within the United States and a U.S. citizen.

Hewlett Packard PC Tribute Scholarship
The Hunger Games anyone? Yes, there is a scholarship that exists where you have to write out in detail, exactly how you would survive playing The Hunger Games. Since Hewlett Packard is based in technology and computers, the company asks a very basic question of “If technology where not allowed within The Hunger Games arena, how would you survive”? Since it is safe to assume nearly every teenager has seen the trilogy or has read the books, this could be a fairly easy essay prompt. It must be 500 words or less.
The KFC Scholarship
The Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant famous for their secret recipe has one question to ask you, have you given back to the community by using your leadership? If so, write to the KFC foundation about it. Even though the foundation is a bit off, the spirit of the contest is in the right place. Demonstrate phenomenal values and community integrity. A fantastic, hefty award of $20,000 will be given out to the individuals who present a courageous and generous outlook on serving their community.
