A lot of people want to study at British universities. This does not just go from British students who would have a natural bias, but those from all over the world. The United Kingdom is known for have some of the best higher education in the entire world. When compared to American universities, British universities are very good value for money. The University of Bristol is among the best of the best, being a Red Brick University. Now, thanks to its brand new international scholarship program, it is making easier for international students to study there.

What Are these Scholarships Anyway?

You must note that it is too late to apply for these scholarships for the academic year starting in 2015, but this information will be useful to if you are considering to study at the University of Bristol in the academic year starting in 2016. A total of 10 scholarships are available to either undergraduate or international students. They are all worth GBP 8,500, but work slightly differently depending on whether you are an undergraduate or a taught masters student. For undergraduate students, five of the 10 scholarships have been made available. They are distributed over the course of three years. In the first year, the student gets GBP 3,000, and then GBP 2,500 in the second and third year of study. A person taking a one year taught masters course gets the full amount in the only year of study.

How Do I Take Advantage of This?

Once you have found that you fill all of the requirements, all that you need to do is to answer a single question. To be eligible, you need to be a new international student, have been accepted to study at the University of Bristol, and have not already been awarded a separate scholarship of over GBP 3,000. You can be studying any degree discipline. The question to answer, is quite simple, and requires a short essay of a maximum of 350 words. If you can answer the question “Why do you think it is important for a university to have students from around the world?”, then you should probably try to apply to the scholarship.
